Designed for production from day one.
Most formulas are built to look right on the bench and fixed for the factory later. We work the other way around. We treat the production run as the real test, and we design and review for it from the start.
The Scale-Readiness Framework
Every formula we develop is built against five areas of scale-up risk, and it's the same lens we use to pressure-test a formula you already have. Each area gets a score, so you can see where a formula stands and what to address first. The output is one report: a score, a risk map, and a prioritized fix list.
These are the areas most likely to sink a first production run. The scoring model is where our experience lives, and we walk you through it on the call.
Stability
Does the formula hold up under real heat, time, and light, not just a week on the bench?
Manufacturability
Will it mix, fill, and hold together on production equipment, at the batch size you are targeting?
Sourcing
Are the raw materials available, consistent between lots, and not quietly single-sourced?
Cost
Does the formula keep its margin once you are buying and making at volume?
Compliance
Do the ingredients and the claims on the label stand up to the rules in your markets?
How an engagement runs
We agree on scope, under NDA
A mutual NDA is in place first. Then you tell us about the formula: your goals for it, the key ingredients, and where it stands today. You don't have to hand over the full recipe to get started.
We review and score
We assess what you've shared against the five areas, using your target process and manufacturing setup as the reference, not a generic one.
You get the report and a walkthrough
You receive the scored report and fix roadmap, then we talk it through so you know exactly what to do next.
We help you act on it, if you want
If the fixes call for reformulation or hands-on scale-up support, we can take that on. If not, the report is yours to run with.
Your formula stays yours.
We do not own a factory, we do not sell ingredients, and no supplier pays us. There is no incentive for us to steer you toward anything but the right answer.
Every engagement runs under a mutual NDA. Findings go only to you. When we publish or teach, we use anonymized patterns, never a client's formula.
Put it to work on your formula.
We use this framework whether we're developing a new formula or auditing one you already have. Start with whichever fits.
